SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF FOUR LIBERTY II LIGHT BARS
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider the approval of the purchase of four Liberty 11 light
bars from Defender Supply for the Police Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this purchase are available in account 325-48910-209-002
(Motor Vehicles) for a total amount not to exceed $16,389.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for four Liberty II Light Bars with Opticom to be installed
on the new Police Interceptor Tahoes when received.
Purchases will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with Tarrant County, Texas as allowed by Texas Local
Government Code, Section 271 and Texas Government Code, Section
791.
Bids were taken by the cooperative and a contract was awarded to
Defender Supply. The Fleet Services and Purchasing staff reviewed the
contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and
determined that the contract would provide the best product and pricing
for meeting the needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval.
