SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF REPAIR OF AN EMERGENCY
GENERATOR
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of generator repair from
Clifford Power for the Public Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this purchase are available in account 200-43370-534-000
(W/W Treatment Infrastructure Maintenance) for an amount not to exceed
$17,547.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for the repair cost of a Kohler emergency generator at
Kimball lift station. T he generator is critical to station functionality in case
of a power outage.
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with the City Purchasing Policy.
Formal bids and advertisements are not required for purchases under
$50,000. Three quotes were submitted as noted below. Clifford Power
submitted the lowest quote meeting specifications.
Clifford Power - $17,547.
Carlisle Power Systems - $22,626.
Critical Electric - $26,286.
Staff recommends approval
