SUBJECT: CONSIDER APPROVAL OF ADOPT-AN-AREA AGREEMENTS
WITH THE GRAPEVINE SISTER CITY PROGRAM FOR
NORTHWEST HIGHWAY, FROM MAIN STREET TO DOVE
ROAD AND FOR 1-800-GOTJUNK FOR MUSTANG DRIVE,
FROM WILLIAM D. TATE AVENUE TO TANGLEWOOD DRIVE
RECOMMENDATION:
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and staff recommends the Council approve
Adopt-An-Area agreements with the Grapevine Sister City Program for Northwest
Highway, from Main Street to Dove Road and for 1-800-GOTJUNK for Mustang Drive,
from William D. Tate Avenue to Tanglewood Drive. Copies of the agreements are
attached for review.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Adopt-A-Road signage would be placed at both ends of these areas. The total cost of
the signage for this is approximately $300 and will come from the Grounds Maintenance
Account 100-42205-312-3.
BACKGROUND:
The proposed agreements are for a period of two years and require the applicants to
pick up litter a minimum of six times per year. If the Council approves these
agreements, there will be a total of 57 areas in Grapevine that have been adopted for
maintenance. The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board approved the agreements at
their January 21St meeting. Staff recommends approval of the agreements.
