SUBJECT: CONSIDER APPROVAL OF ADOPT-AN-AREA AGREEMENTS
RECOMMENDATION:
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and staff recommend the Council approve
Adopt-An-Area agreements with the Lindenberger Family for Acorn Woods and with
Kayakpower.com for the shoreline at Rockledge Park. Copies of the agreements are
attached for review.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Adopt-A-Road signage would be placed at both ends of these areas. The total cost of
the signage for this is approximately $150 and will come from the Grounds Maintenance
Account 100-42205-312-3.
BACKGROUND:
The proposed agreements are for a period of two years and require the applicants to
pick up litter a minimum of six times per year. The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board
approved the agreements at their July 15th meeting. If approved by the City Council,
there will be a total of 61 Adopt-An-Area groups in Grapevine. The Parks & Recreation
Advisory Board and staff recommend approval of the agreements.
