SUBJECT: SPECIAL USE REQUEST SU10-01
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council withdraw special use permit request SU10-01, and take
any other action necessary.
BACKGROUND:
The applicant, Clear Wireless submitted a special use request for property addressed at
1900 Minters Chapel Road to establish a new ground lease, collocation of wireless
antennae, and installation of communication equipment in conjunction with a cell tower
located at the northwest corner of Minters Chapel Road and North Airfield Drive. At the
March 16, 2010 meeting the request was tabled until the April 20, 2010 public hearing to
address an issue raised by DIFW International Airport. After analysis of the original special
use request approved in 2001, staff in consultation with the city attorney, has determined
that a special use application is not warranted and that the request may be processed
administratively.
