SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF THE PURCHASE OF A GREENS MOWER AND
ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT FOR THE MUNICIPAL GOLF
COURSE THROUGH THE TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT
PURCHASING COOPERATIVE PROGRAM
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval of the purchase of a Greens Mower and associated
equipment for the Municipal Golf Course from John Deere Company in the total amount
of$23,779.64.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding is provided in account 325-48860-340-10-1020 Lease Fund/Golf
Course/Machinery & Equipment in the amount of$23,779.64.
BACKGROUND:
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal agreement with the
Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (Buyboard.com) as allowed by Texas Local
Government Code, Section 271.102. This interlocal agreement will satisfy all bidding
requirements under the Local Government.Code. The.Cooperative solicited bids for this
commodity and established a contract with the John Deere Company.
The purpose of this request is to approve the purchase of a 2500E Triplex Greens
Mower and associated equipment from the John Deere Company through an existing
Local Government Purchasing Cooperative contract. The equipment was approved for
purchase during the budget process for this fiscal year. The replacement criteria for
mowers is five years. This purchase is to replace a mower that was purchased in May of
2004.
Staff recommends approval of the purchase of a 2500E Triplex Greens Mower and
associated equipment from the John Deere Company through an existing Local
Government Purchasing Cooperative Interlocal agreement in the amount of$23,779.64.
