SUBJECT: CONSIDER APPROVAL OF ADOPT-AN-AREA AGREEMENTS
WITH GIRL SCOUT TROOPS 1401 & 1498, FIRST UNITED
METHODIST CHURCH OF GRAPEVINE AND WITH MR.
RANDY WOLF
RECOMMENDATION:
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and staff recommend the Council approve
Adopt-An-Area agreements with the following groups. The agreements are attached for
review.
• Girl Scout Troop 1401 and 1498 for Kimball Road, from Silvercrest Lane
to Lakeridge Drive and Forest Hills Road
• Randy Wolf for Lake Grapevine shoreline, from McPherson Slough Boat
Ramp to Dove Loop Boat Ramp
• First United Methodist Church for Morehead Branch Creek, from College
Street to Northwest Highway
FUNDING SOURCE:
Adopt A-Road signage would be placed at both ends of these areas. The total cost of
the signage for this is approximately $300 and will come from the Grounds Maintenance
Account 100-42205-312-3.
BACKGROUND:
The proposed agreements are for a period of two years and require the applicants to
pick up litter a minimum of six times per year. If the Council approves these
agreements, there will be a total of 56 areas in Grapevine that have been adopted for
maintenance. The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board approved the agreements at
their May 13th meeting. Staff recommends approval.
