SUBJECT: BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS APPOINTMENTS
RECOMMENDATION:
Consider appointment of citizens to the City's boards and commissions; consider
Chairman appointments to the Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Board, the
Grapevine Heritage Foundation, Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and the Senior
Citizens Advisory Board; and the Mayor to appoint City Council liaisons to the boards
and City Council committees.
BACKGROUND:
Each year at this time, the City Council reviews and considers citizen appointments to
the various boards and commissions. Notifications of vacancies on the boards and
commissions were published in the Fort Worth-Star Telegram and the Dallas Morning
News. Applications and attendance records for 20.09-2010 were compiled and
distributed to the City Council and staff on Friday, April 30, 2010. City Council panels
conducted applicant interviews June 3rd and 4th.
Pursuant to the Grapevine Code of Ordinances, Chapter 21, Section 21-28, the Mayor
appoints the Chairman of the Convention &Visitors Bureau Advisory Board.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 90-17, the Mayor appoints the Chairman of the Grapevine
Heritage Foundation.
Pursuant to the Grapevine Code of Ordinances, Chapter 16 Parks & Recreation, Section
16-3, the Mayor appoints the Chairman of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 2000-39, the Mayor appoints the Chairman of the Senior
Citizens Advisory Board.
Attached is the 2009-2010 list of City Council liaisons and City Council committees.
