SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF THE PURCHASE OF PRINTING SERVICES
FOR THE PARKS AND RECREATION PLAYBOOK ACTIVITY
GUIDE
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval for the purchase of printing services for the Parks and
Recreation playbook activity guide. The total cost is not to exceed $15,770.

BACKGROUND:
In accordance with City Purchasing Policy, Staff solicited written quotations for this
purchase. Formal bids and advertisements are not required for purchases under
$50,000.00.
The Grapevine Playbook Activity Guide is a full color publication printed twice annually
(Spring/Summer and FaIllWinter) which features all of the City of Grapevine's special
events and programs. This publication is the City of Grapevine's largest print advertising
piece distributed to the public. This quote was for the 2011 SpringlSummer edition.
Quotes were solicited and received from four vendors. A tabulation of the quotes is
attached for review. Graphics 2 submitted the lowest bid meeting specifications.
Graphics 2 has provided service in the past to the City of Grapevine with satisfactory
results.
Staff recommends approval to purchase printing services for the Grapevine Playbook
Activity Guide from Graphics 2, in the amount not to exceed $15,770.
