SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR MEDICAL PHYSICALS
FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider the approval for an annual contract for medical
physicals for the Fire Department with HealthTexas Provider Network.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this purchase are available in account 100-44540-210-001
(Professional Services) in an amount not to exceed $35,000.
BACKGROUND: HealthTexas Provider Network through Baylor Scott and White Grapevine
will provide the physicals. HealthTexas will provide, within 30 days of the
exams, a "Pass/Fail Fit for Duty Assessment" to the Fire Department with
respect to each employee.
The Grapevine Fire Department has been conducting medical physicals
annually for firefighters since 2006.
This request is for approval to establish a new annual contract to provide
medical physicals for the Fire Department on an annual basis. The
contract is for an initial one-year period with one, one-year renewal option.
Staff recommends approval.
