SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF A QUOTE FOR ELECTRICAL
REPAIR AND INSTALLATION
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the award of a quote for electrical
repair and installation from Precision Pump Systems for the Public Works
Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds for this purchase are currently available in 200-43370-534-000
(W/W Treatment Infrast. Maint.) for an amount not to exceed $28,187.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for the installation of all new motor control enclosures,
new soft start drives and new wiring runs. These components have begun
to fail and must be replaced.
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with the City Purchasing Policy.
Formal bids and advertisements are not required for purchases under
$50,000. Three quotes were submitted as noted below. Precision Pump
Systems submitted the lowest quote meeting specifications.
Precision Pump Systems $28,187
Peterson Pump $33,000
Hoberer Electrical $33,253
Staff recommends approval.
