SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO
MODULAR PLAY SYSTEMS FOR THE COMMUNITY OUTREACH
PARK
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval of a resolution forte purchase of two modular play
systems with installation from Recreation Consultants of Texas through an Interlocal
Participation Agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative(Buyboard).
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding fortis purchase is currently available in account 121-48850-312-13-000030
(Quality of Life Fund) fort e amount not to exceed $110,139.38.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing Interlocal Participation
Agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (Buyboard)as allowed by
Texas Local Government Code, Section 271.102, Cooperative Purchasing Program.
Bids were taken by the cooperative and a contract was awarded to Recreation Consultants
of Texas under contract number 346-10, Parks, Recreation & Field Lighting Products &
Installation. Parks and Recreation Department staff reviewed the contract for specification
compliance and pricing and determined that the contract would provide the best product
and pricing for meeting the needs of the City. The Cooperative Purchasing Agreement
satisfies all bidding requirements under the Texas Local Government Code.
This purchase is to add two new play structures at the Community Outreach Center. The
play structures will encompass ages 2-5 and 5-12 along with appropriate swings for of
age groups.

WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is local government in to of
Texas and as such is empowered by the Texas Local Government Code, Section 271.1
to enter into a cooperative purc sin re r with other qualified entities in
Texas; and
The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative ( uy r is

Local Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas has established an Interlocal Participation
Agreement it The Local Government Purchasing oo er iv ( u o r ) and wishes to
use s Cis contracts meeting all State of ex s bidding requirements;

NOW, THEREFORE, IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY I THE CITY
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct n
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section That the i Council of i of Grapevine authorizes the purchase
of a modular play system for the Community Outreach r from cr ion Consultants
of Texas through an Interlocal Participation Agreement with The oc I Government
Purchasing o r iv ( y o r ) for an amount not to exceed $110,139.38.
Section 3, That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps
necessary to consummate the rc s of said ro ucts and services.

Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
