SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF LED FIXTURES FOR THE
LIBRARY
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of LED fixtures for the
Grapevine Public Library from Facility Solutions Group for the Public
Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in account 174-74004-118-005 (Library Repairs &
Maintenance) for a total amount not to exceed $93,057.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is the second of four phases of new LED fixtures for the
Library as shown in the attached. The new fixtures are made by the
existing manufacturer to provide a consistent look throughout the Library.
Furthermore, these fixtures will reduce energy consumption and increase
bulb life. Staff is continuing this improvement throughout the Library as
funding permits.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative
(BuyBoard) as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271
and Texas Government Code, Chapter 791.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to
Facility Solutions Group. The Facilities and Purchasing staff reviewed the
contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and
determined that the contract would best meet the needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval
