PROJECT COST
Original voter approved amount was $3.9 million in November
2017 for the animal shelter.
Design of new shelter to meet the needs/standards of the
community (and current practice in shelters) has the actual cost at
$5. 1 million - $3.9 million GMP is being recommended tonight
with an additional almost $800,000 in owner furnished items for
the project, plus the professional fees of $466,000.
Fire Stations 2 and 3 are $ I .2 million under budget, which provides
a path to fully fund the new shelter.
SIZE AND AMENITIES
The new shelter is 12,838 square feet with necessary kennel space,
sally port, community education room, office space for staff and
volunteers, and a procedure room for on-site medical for the shelter.
