SUBJECT: APPROVAL TO RENEW AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR NEWSBANK
SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider the renewal of an annual contract for NewsBank
services with NewsBank, Inc. for the Library.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funding for this contract is currently available in account 100-42282-313-
001 (General Fund - Library & Audiovisual Supplies) in the amount of
$22,251.
BACKGROUND: The purpose of this contract is to establish fixed annual pricing for
consolidated current and archived information from thousands of
newspapers and other publications for the Library. The NewsBank, Inc.
company has been a premier information provider for more than forty-five
years and provides excellent customer service which meets the diverse
needs of public library customers.
This procurement will be made in accordance with Local Government
Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General Exemptions (B) (E),
library materials.
Staff recommends approval.
