SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF A 2020 HARLEY-DAVIDSON
POLICE MOTORCYCLE
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of a 2020 Harley-
Davidson police motorcycle from Longhorn Harley-Davidson for the Police
Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Motor Vehicles - Capital Equipment Fund(325-
48910-209-000-200001) for an amount not to exceed $35,991.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is to replace Police motorcycle Unit 97103 approved in the
FY 2020 Budget. The item meets Police and Fleet specifications.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative
(BuyBoard) as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Section 271
and Texas Government Code, Chapter 791.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to
Longhorn Harley-Davidson. The Fleet Services Department and
Purchasing staff reviewed the contract for departmental specification
compliance and pricing and determined that the contract would provide
the best service and pricing for meeting the needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval
