SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF
SYNTHETIC GRASS
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase and installation of
synthetic grass from Synthetic Grass Pros for the Parks and Recreation
Department and Community Outreach Center.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Quality of Life Fund (Improvements other than
building -121-48850-312-020-170001-0) & 100-44540-209-001for a total
amount not to exceed $71,797.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for synthetic grass to be installed in the small dog
paddock at Bear Creek Dog Park as well as the remaining portion of the
Community Outreach Center.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative
(BuyBoard) as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271
and Texas Government Code, Chapter 791.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to
Synthetic Grass Pros.The Parks and Recreation and Purchasing staff
reviewed the contract for departmental specification compliance and
pricing and determined that the contract would best meet the needs of the
City.
Staff recommends approval
