SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWELVE FORD VEHICLES
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider the approval for the purchase of twelve Ford
vehicles from Sam Pack's Five Star Ford for the Public Works
Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Capital Equipment Fund 325 for an estimated
amount of $537,000 and in the Utility Enterprise Fund 200 for an
estimated amount of $105,771.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for 11 new Ford vehicles replacing those approved in the
FY 2020. The receiving departments include Public Works, Parks,
Utilities, Fire and Police.These vehicles meet the specifications of the
departments and Fleet services.
Purchases will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with Tarrant County, Texas as allowed by Texas Local
Government Code, Section 271 and Texas Government Code, Section
791.
Bids were taken by the cooperative and a contract was awarded to Sam
Pack's Five Star Ford. Fleet Services and Purchasing staff reviewed the
contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and
determined that the contract would provide the best product and pricing
for meeting the needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval.
