SUBJECT: APPROVAL TO RENEW AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR CABIN
HOUSECLEANING SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approving the renewal of an annual contract for cabin
housecleaning services to TCB Landscaping, Inc. for restroom and cabin housecleaning
services at The Vineyards Campground & Cabins for the Parks and Recreation
Department. Purchases will be limited to the budgeted amount for this service.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds are available in account 119-44540-312-9 (Lake Park Funds/ Lake Parks/
Professional Services) in the budgeted amount of$55,000.00.
BACKGROUND:
Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter
B, Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). The bid advertisement was posted in
the Fort Worth Star Telegram on February 23 and March 2, 2011. The bid was opened
publicly on March 18, 2011.
The purpose of this bid was to establish fixed annual pricing for cabin housekeeper
services for 13 cabin units and restrooms at The Vineyards Campground & Cabins for
the Parks and Recreation Department.
After the Staff reviewed all the bids received, TCB Landscaping, Inc. was deemed the
lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Council awarded the initial contract period on
April 19, 2011 with three, one-year optional renewals. If approved, this would be the first
optional renewal period. This vendor has provided these services to the City with
satisfactory results and has agreed to renew the contract with no increase in pricing.
Staff recommends approval.
