L da uf f City Secretary STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE The City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Special Session on this the ist day of September, 1992 at 7: 00 p.m. in Council Chambers, Municipal Court Room #205, 307 West Dallas Road, with the following members present to-wit: William D. Tate Mayor Ted R. Ware Mayor Pro Tem Sharron Spencer Council Member C. Shane Wilbanks Council Member Gil Traverse Council Member Jerry L. Pittman Council Member Will Wickman Council Member constituting a quorum, with the following members of the City Staff: Trent Petty Interim City Manager John F. Boyle, Jr. City Attorney Linda Huff City Secretary CALL TO ORDER Mayor Tate called the Special meeting to order at 7: 00 p.m. ITEM 1. PUBLIC HEARING INTENT TO INCREASE TAX RATE Mayor Tate declared the public hearing open for the purpose of a statement of intent to increase the tax rate calculated per the Property Tax Code. Interim City Manager Trent Petty noted that in compliance with the "truth-in-taxation" laws, the City of Grapevine published its "effective" and "rollback" tax rates. Also, on August 18 the City adopted a resolution reflecting its intent to adopt a tax rate not to exceed $.4250 per $100 valuation for Fiscal Year 1993, which is the same tax rate as Fiscal Year 1992 . Mayor Tate invited guests present to speak regarding the issue. No one wished to speak and there was no correspondence to report. Mayor Pro Tem Ware, seconded by Council Member Spencer, offered a motion to close the public hearing. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Tate, Ware, Spencer, Wilbanks, Traverse, Pittman & Wickman Nays: None 09/Ol/92 Mayor Pro Tem Ware, s��conded by Council Member Wickman, made a : motion the Council wou:Ld consider adoption of the tax rate at the September 15, 1992 Re.gular City Council meeting. The motion prevailed by the follo��ing vote: Ayes: Tate, Ware, Speiicer, Wilbanks, Traverse, Pittman & Wickman Nays: None ADJOURNMENT Mayor Pro Tem Ware, s��conded by Council Member Wickman, made a motion to adjourn at 7: 05 p.m. The motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Tate, Ware, Spencer, Wilbanks, Traverse, Pittman & Wickman Nays: None PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 15th day of September , 1992.
