SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE PURCHASE OF A
VERMEER VACTRON TRAILER
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval of a resolution fort purchase of a Vermeer VacTron
LP855SDT trailer-mounted vacuum excavator from Vermeer Equipment of Texas
through an Interlocal Participation Agreement with The Local Government Purchasing
Cooperative (Buyb oar d).
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase is currently available in accounts 200-48860-530-1, 100-
48860-312-3, 100-48860-415-3, and 100-48860-415-4 (Capital Equipment/Machinery
and Equipment) for an amount not to exceed $72,462.00.
BACKGROUND:
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal participation
agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (Buyboard) as allowed
by Texas Local Government Code, Section 271.102, Cooperative Purchasing Program.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to Vermeer of Texas,
Inc. The Public Works and Purchasing staff reviewed the contract for specification
compliance and pricing and determined that the contract would provide the best product
and pricing for meeting the needs of the City. The Interlocal Participation Agreement
satisfies all bidding requirements under the Texas Local Government Code.
This equipment will be utilized by multiple divisions for use of locating other utilities prior
to excavation. It was budgeted by multiple divisions for use in an effort to help reduce
the potential for damaging underground utilities. This equipment meets the requirements
and specifications of all divisions.

Texas and as such is empowered s Local Government Section 71.1
to enter into o r tier Purchasing r with other qualified entities in the
State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative ( o r ) is
qualified rc si program as authorized by Section 271,102 of the Texas Local
Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the City of r vine, Texas has established an Interlocal Participation
Agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative(Buybo r )and wishes to
use s lis contracts meeting all State of s bidding requirements; n
WHEREAS, The Local Government Purchasing oo r tip { o r } has
established contract with Vermeer of Texas, Inc. under contract #3 -1
Construction/Road & Bri e Equipment, Ditch in r nchi I ti lity Equipment; and
the i has a need to purchase a trailer-mounted vacuum excavator.
