SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE PURCHASE OF
THREE 2013 FORD FLEX VEHICLES
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval of a resolution for the purchase of three 2013 or
Flex vehicles from Sam Pack's Five Star For through an Interlocal. Agreement for
Cooperative Purchasing with the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC).
FUNDING SOURCE.
Funding for this purchase is currently available in CVB account 325-48910-350-13-0019
(Capital Equipment/Machinery Purchase Fund/Motor Vehicles) for the amount not to
exceed $100,531.56.
BACKGROUND:
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing Interlocal Agreement for
Cooperative Purchasing with the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) as allowed
by Texas Local Government Code, Section 271.102, Cooperative Purchasing Program.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to Sam Pack's Five
Star Ford. The Fleet Services staff and Purchasing reviewed the contract for
specification compliance and pricing and determined that the contract would provide the
best product and pricing for meeting the needs of the City. The Cooperative Purchasing
Agreement satisfies all bidding requirements under the Texas Local Government Code.
CVB has this funding authorized for three Ford Flex vehicle purchases in the FY 2013
Budget.
Staff recommends approval.

INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT FOR COOPERATIVE

WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is a local government in the State of
Texas and as such is empowered by the Texas Local Government Code, Section 271.102
to enter into a cooperative purchasing program agreement i ter qualified entities in

WHEREAS, the City of rap vin 8 Texas, has established n I nterlocal Agreement
for Cooperative Purchasing with wishes to utilize established contracts
meeting all State of Texas i in requirements;
WHEREAS, H-GAC has established a contract with Sam Pack's Five Star Ford
under contract#VE1 1®11 w Cars and Light Trucks; and

NOW, THEREFORE, IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY I CITY OF

Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble r true and correct
are incorporated herein as if copied in it entirety.
