; Mayar Tate called the special meeting to order at 7 .10 p.m.

' ITEM 1 . PUBLIC HEARING, INTENT TO INCREASE TAX RATE
Mayor Tate deciared the public hearing open for the purpose of a
i statement of intent to increase the tax rate calculated per the �-
Praperty Tax Code. �
Finance Director Larry Koonce stated the proposal is to increase
' the effective tax rate for Fiscal Year 1990-1991 from $ .4082 to
� $ .4250 per $lOQ .00 valuation, a 4 .1� increase over the effective
I tax rate. This represents a decrease from the current fiscal
1� year' s (FY89-9Q) tax rate of $ . 4275.
Mayor Tate invited gues�s present to speak regarding �.he issue.
No one requested to speak and there was no carrespondence to
; report.
I There being na commen�.s by any member of the audience or the City
jCouncil, a motion to close the public hearing was made by Counc;il
', Member Traverse. Council Member Pittman offered a secand to the
; motion which prevailed by the following vota;
� Ayes: Tate, Ware, Spencer, Wilbanks , Traverse, Pit�man & Wickman

Council Member Wilbanks offered a motion to adjourn the meeting
