SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE EMERGENCY PURCHASE OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL
CABINETS
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approving and ratifying the emergency purchase
of traffic signal cabinets from Mobotrex for the Public Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Capital Projects Fund (177) for a total amount
not to exceed $51,438.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for new traffic signal control cabinets for Main Street at
Texas Street, East Franklin Street, and Hudgins Street.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271
and Texas Government Code, Chapter 791.
An emergency purchase order was issued to Mobotrex for the traffic
control equipment on April 22, 2020. This purchase was made using an
interlocal agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative
(BuyBoard) purchasing cooperative.
Staff recommends approval.
