S. , Subsection 2 (g) . � � � � � ADJOURNMENT � � � � IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 6252-17 , V.A.T.C.S. , AS AMENDED BY CHAPTER 227, ACTS OF THE 61ST LEGISLATURE, REGULAR SESSION, THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA WAS PREPARED AND POSTED ON THIS THE 19TH DAY OF JANUARY, 1989 AT 5: 00 P.M. �; � � � _ � City Secretar � ;: � � � � � t . ; � � � � � � �. � � � � � STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE The City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Special Session on this the 23rd day of January, 1989 at 5 :00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Municipal Court Room #205, 307 West Dallas Road, with the following members present to-wit: William D. Tate Mayor Ted R. Ware Mayor Pro Tem Jim Glynn Council Member Sharron Spencer Council Member C. Shane Wilbanks Council Member Gil Traverse Council Member constituting a quorum, with Council Member Lynn R. Niedermeier absent, with the following members of the City Staff: Kelvin Knauf Acting City Manager Linda Huff City Secretary CALL TO ORDER Mayor Tate called the special meeting to order at 5 : 00 p.m. : ITEM 1. EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Tate announced the City Council would recess to Conference Room #204 to discuss personnel (applicants for City Manager' s position) under amendments to Article 6252-17, V.A.T.C.S. , Subsection 2 (g) . Upon reconvening in the Council Chambers all members were present except Council Member Niedermeier. Council Member Wilbanks, Chairman of the Personnel Committee, made a recommendation the Council approve extending an offer to the candidate, Mark S. Watson of Mission, Texas, with the following package: 1 . Salary to be $68, 500 . 00 per annum. 2 . Automobile allowance of $6, 000 . 00 per annum. 3 . Sick leave, disability benefits, life insurance, health insurance and dental insurance all in accordance with existing City policy. 4 . Vacation would be identified as an immediate two (2) week eligibility of vacation, with an additional two (2) weeks awarded after a six (6) month completion of service and four (4) weeks vacation annually thereafter. 5. City would participate at a rate of five percent (5$) in the - International City Manager' s Association (ICMA) Deferred Compensation program. ' 6. City would reimburse full expense for relocation of household goods. City would authorize one (1) house hunting trip that : would extend over a four to five day duration and reimburse for those expenses. 7 . The offer would be extended for Mr. Watson to begin employment as soon as possible, or on or about March 1 , 1989 . Mayor Pro Tem Ware made a motion to extend the offer to Mr. Mark Watson. Council Member Traverse offered a second to the motion which prevailed by the following vote: � � - Ol/23189 ; � Ayes . Tate, Ware, Glynn, Spencer, Wilbanks & Traverse Nays . None Absent: Niedermeier ADJOURNMENT � There being no further business to be discussed by the City Council, Council Member Spencer offered a mation to adjourn the , meeting at 6:20 p.m. The motian was seconded by Council Member Traverse and prevaiied by the fallawing vote: Ayes .
