Dawson City Manager Kelvin Knauf Assistant City Manager Linda Huff City Secretary Ralph Seeley Finance Director Bob Needs Budget Analyst C'AT T, TO ORDER Mayor Tate called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. ITII�! 1. WORKSHOP, PROPOSID 1988-89 BLIDGET � The proposed FY89 Budget Workshop continued with review of the Golf Course � F�ind. The debt service repayment of the original bonds to build the Golf Course was discussed. Repayment of the funds began during FY88. The revi�w of the General Fund departmental requests continued with Parks & Recreation, Legal, Police, Library, Comrnuzity Developnent, Economic Developrrent, and the Fire Departznent. During the Police Departznent review, Police Chief Deggans requested that police personnel be considered on an equal pay plan with the Fire Department personnel. He distributed inforniation noting $123,921.00 would be required to bring eligible police personnel to top out salary. Follawing review of the departmental requests, Council discussed the City's policies relative to (1) new hires and promr�ted employees' raises and evaluations, (2) determine the cost of extending sick leave buy-back to departztuent heads, (3) City pay total cost to outfit a new patrol officer and the officer keep the first year's clothing allowance, and (4) recognition of volunteers at an annual banquet.
