Box Addition be protected from future demolition and construction of potentially large Colleyville style homes. One of the reasons that tourist give for visiting downtown Grapevine is the quaintness and the old town feel. If they wanted to see big new houses they may as well just stay at home or not leave the hotels when they come for conferences. Grapevine is unique and we need to capitalize on our resources. When I was in Tulsa, OK for a preservation conference a couple of years ago, one of the areas we toured was a well preserved neighborhood of beautiful 1950's Ranch Style homes that had been restored and modernized to meet their 21st century needs.I appeal to the City Council of Grapevine to protect this area for future generations to enjoy as I did in Tulsa. One more point ,we view the old heritage of Europe as if it is an admirable thing. We will never get to know how the future visitors view Grapevine if we allow it to be demolished one home at a time and replaced with contemporary structures.
