SUBJECT: WORKSHOP - SOLID WASTE CONTRACT RENEWAL
A contract was entered into between Grapevine and Allied Waste Systems in 1995 and
provides for five year renewals as agreed to by both parties. The current contract
expires in June of this year, and may be renewed for another five-year period upon the
direction of the City Council.
During the workshop at the April 20th City Council Meeting, questions arose about the
"Recycling Bank" Program. Staff requested that Allied Waste Systems return with a
representative of the Recycling Bank Program and present additional information to
Council.
Staff desires a consensus from Council on Option A, B or C, as presented on April 2pt",
so that we may prepare the necessary documents to renew the contract prior to its
expiration in June.
