SUBJECT: QUARTERLY WORKSHOP
CRIME DATA ANALYSIS
Attached is a presentation prepared by Chief Salame and Scott Williams dealing with
crime and code enforcement issues in apartments and mobile home parks in Grapevine.
The question of how well we are doing to combat crime in these areas and whether we
have the proper tools to enforce code violations, are ones asked from time to time by
Council and is the reason for the discussion at Monday night's workshop. The
presentation is broad in its review of the topic and intended to be an overview
discussion. From this broad perspective, Council may wish to narrow down the areas
you might request us to study further and bring back recommendations at a later
workshop or you may conclude that the status quo, which has served us in the past, is
your direction. In any case, staff is prepared to follow Council's direction after the
discussion/presentation of this topic on Monday evening.
VISIONING/STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS DISCUSSION
Once this topic is concluded the staff will depart and we will spend the balance of the
time on a visioning discussion with me and the Council.
