SUBJECT: W�RKSHOP— OPEN SPACE MASTER PLAN UPDATE
The President of Pros Consulting, Leon Younger, will update the Council on the results of
the focus group meetings that were held on Monday, November 15t" and Wednesday,
November 17t" at the Bessie Mitchell Meeting Facility. Mr. Younger will also give the
Council a demographic and park and facility assessment and get the Council's vision for
the Parks and Recreation Department for the next 10 years. Please see the attached list
of questions that Mr. Younger will be asking the Council.

1. Are there any key elements you feel need to be addressed in the next 10 years
for the Grapevine Parks and Recreation Department as it applies to the
foliowing?
• Ldnd Management or Land Acquisition?
• Recreation Facility Development or Management?
• Recreation Program Development or Management?
• Trai1 Development or Management?
• Amenity Development or Management in the Parks?
• Partnerships that need to be developed or enhanced?
2. Are there any key policy issues you feel we need to address in this Parks and
Recreation Master Plan?This could include:
• Partnership policies
• Pricing Policies
• Volunteer Palices
• Management Policies
3. Are there areas of the Deparfment that you feel need more focus for creating
greater financial sustainability to support the long term financial sustainability of
the city? �
4. Are there any operational issues that we need to focus on to meet the
community needs and expectations they have for parks and recreation in the
city? This could include:
• Maintenance of parks and facilities
• Recreation Services
• Marketing of Services
• Asset management of parks and facilities
5. What are the key outcomes you would like this Master Plan to address?
6. What is your vision for parks and recreation in the city for the next 10 years?
