SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE PURCHASE OF A
TORO MODEL 7385 WORKMAN HDX -D UTILITY VEHICLE

City Council to consider approval of a resolution for the purchase of a Toro 7385 workman
hdx -d utility vehicle from Professional Turf Products, L.P. through a Cooperative
Purchasing Agreement with the National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase is currently available in 210 - 48860 -340 -2 (Machinery and
Equipment) for an amount not to exceed $22,946.78.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing Cooperative Purchasing
Agreement with the National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance as allowed by Texas
Local Government Code, Section 271.102, Cooperative Purchasing Program.
Bids were taken by the cooperative and a contract was awarded to Professional Turf
Products, L.P. The Grapevine Golf Course staff and Purchasing reviewed the contract for
specification compliance and pricing and determined that the contract would provide the
best product and pricing for meeting the needs of the City.
The utility vehicle is being purchased as a replacement for a vehicle which is nine years old
and is no longer useful in its current condition due to continual maintenance and need for
repairs.
Staff recommends approval.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
OR THE CITY MANAGER'S DESIGNEE TO PURCHASE A
TORO MODEL 7385 WORKMAN HDX -D UTILITY VEHICLE
THROUGH AN ESTABLISHED COOPERATIVE
PURCHASING AGREEMENT AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas is a local government in the State of
Texas and as such is empowered by the Texas Local Government Code, Section 271.102
to enter into an Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with other qualified entities in the
State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance is a qualified
purchasing program as authorized by Section 271.102 of the Texas Local Government
Code; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine, Texas has established an Cooperative
Purchasing Agreement with National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance and wishes
to use established contracts meeting all State of Texas bidding requirements; and
WHEREAS, the National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance has established a
contract with Professional Turf Products, LP, contract #120535, Grounds Maintenance
Equipment; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine's Golf Course has a need to purchase a Toro
model 7385 workman hdx -d utility vehicle to replace an old unit.
NOW, THEREFORE, RESOLVED

Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the purchase
of a Toro model 7385 workman hdx -d utility vehicle for the Grapevine Golf Course from
Professional Turf Products, LP through a Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with the
National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance for an amount not to exceed $22,946.78.
Section 3. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to take all steps
necessary to consummate the purchase of said utility vehicle.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 15th day of April, 2014.
