HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1997-035 ,� ORDINANCE NO. 9�-35 � AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE TEXAS, AMENDING THE GRAPEVINE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 20-7, RELATIVE TO STREET NAME CHANGES; PROVIDING FOR THE NAME CHANGE OF A CERTAIN STREET; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the developer of the Grapevine Mills has requested that Anderson Gibson Road's name be changed in the vicinity of the Mall Site to reflect the presence of the Mall and its influence upon the area's development; and WHEREAS, the property owners fronting the segments of Anderson Gibson Road requested to be changed have agreed to the proposed name change; and WHEREAS, the Grapevine Mills proposes one additional roadway entrance from State Highway 26 and one additional entrance from Farm to Market Road 2499, both of �°�TM which require signalization; and �„ WHEREAS, Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) requires that signalized entrances from State Highways be City streets; and WHEREAS, the two additional roadway entrances from State Highway 26 and Farm to Market Road 2499 respectively have been dedicated by instrument to the City of Grapevine for public street purposes; and WHEREAS, the Grapevine Mills has proposed street names for these finro entrances in keeping with the overall theme of the Mall site; and WHEREAS, the two entrances will solely serve the Mall Site and the outparcel tracts via the internal Ring Road Network. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: .�* Section 1. That all of the above premises are found to be true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this ordinance as if copied in their entirety. "� Section 2. That Chapter 20, Section 20-7 Street Name Changes of the Grapevine Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by the addition of the following street name changes: � Anderson Gibson Road from its intersection with State Highway 121 to its intersection with Farm to Market Road 2499 is hereby designated and shall ;� hereafter be known as Grapevine Mills Boulevard North. Anderson Gibson Road from its intersection with Farm to Market Road 2499 extending west and southwest for a distance of approximately 3,500 linear feet is hereby designated and shall hereafter be known as Grapevine Mills Boulevard North. Anderson Gibson Road from its intersection with State Highway 26 extending northwest for a distance of approximately 250 linear feet to the intersection with the East Internal Ring Road is hereby designated and shall hereafter be known as Grapevine Mills Boulevard South. The additional entrance into State Highway 26 located approximately 950 linear feet northeast of Grapevine Mills Boulevard South and extending northwest from the highway to the East Internal Ring Road is hereby designated and shall hereafter be known as Gridiron Way. The additional entrance into Farm to Market Road 2499 located �.�� approximately 850 linear feet south of Grapevine Mills Boulevard and extending west-southwest from the highway to the East Internal Ring Road �, is hereby designated and shall hereafter be known as Stars & Stripes Way. Section 3. That all ordinances or any parts thereof in conflict with the terms of this ordinance shall be and hereby are deemed repealed and of no force or effect; provided, however, that the ordinance or ordinances under which the cases currently filed and pending in the Municipal Court of the City of Grapevine, Texas, shall be deemed repealed only when all such cases filed and pending under such ordinance or ordinances have been disposed of by a final conviction or a finding not guilty or nolo contendere, or dismissal. Section 4. If any section, article, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereto any person or circumstances is held invalid or unconstitutional by a Court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance; and the City Council hereby declares it would have passed such remaining portions of the ordinance despite such invalidity, which remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect. Section 5. The fact that the present ordinances and regulations of the City of Grapevine, Texas are inadequate to properly safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace �,,, and general welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Grapevine, Texas, creates an emergency for the immediate preservation of the public business, property, health, safety and general welfare of the public which requires that this ordinance shall become effective w,�► from and after the date of its passage, and it is accordingly so ordained.
