HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1996-039 "�` " ORDINANCE NO. 96-39 ``""° AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AMENDING THE GRAPEVINE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 20-7, RELATIVE TO STREET NAME CHANGES; PROVIDING FOR THE NAME CHANGE OF A CERTAIN STREET; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the development of the Grapevine Mills will generate significant traffic in the State Highway 121/State Highway 26/State Highway 1 14/Interstate Highway 635 corridor; and WHEREAS, well-planned directional signage is vital for optimum access to the Grapevine Mills site; and WHEREAS, naming Farm to Market Road 2499 between the State Highway 26 and State Highway 121 interchange and the Flower Mound city limits to "Grapevine '�`" Mills Parkway" will provide recognition of the Grapevine Mills site and improve motorists awareness of the highway signage. � NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1 . That all of the above premises are found to be true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this ordinance as if copied in their entirety. ' Section 2. That Chapter 20, Section 20-7 Street Name Changes of the Grapevine Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by the addition of the following street name changes: "Farm to Market Road 2499 between State Highway 121 and Flower Mound City limits from "International Parkway" to "Grapevine Mills Parkway". Section 3. All provisions of Section 20-7 not specifically amended herein shall remain in full force and effect and shall not be amended by the adoption of this ,�.�► ordinance. Section 4. If any section, article, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or word �► in this ordinance, or application thereto any person or circumstance is held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance; and the City Council hereby declares it would have passed such remaining portions of the ordinance in spite of '""�'' such invalidity, which remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect. Section 5. The fact that the present ordinances and regulations of the City of � Grapevine, Texas are inadequate to properly safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace and general welfare of the public creates an emergency which requires that this ordinance become effective from and after the date of its passage, and it is accordingly so ordained.
