ORDINANCE NO. 93-26
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
� GRAPEVINE, TEXAS DISANNEXING CERTAIN SPECIFIC
PROPERTY LOCATED IN DALLAS AND DENTON
COUNTIES; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Grapevine to disannex certain property
("Subject Property") located in Dallas and Denton Counties, said property being more
fG"!y d�scrib�U ;^ �xhibit "A", �,r"i�r is �t�ac"ed he�e�c ard ircor;orated herein; and
WHEREAS, said property is within t��� city limits of th� Cit}� �f Gra�evine and
shall remain within the exclusive extraterritorial jurisdiction of said City of Grapevine,
Texas; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine has a population of 4,OOp or more and is
located in a county with a population of more than 205,000; and

WHEREAS, said property is composed of at least three (3) contiguous acres
�^ that are unimproved and adjoining the boundaries of the City of Grapevine; and
�„ WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine does not waive any extraterritorial rights it
has or any other rights it has in taking this action; and
WHEREAS, any and all legal requirements for the disannexation of said Subject
Property have been heretofore duly, timely and properly performed and done; and
WHEREAS, it is for the public welfare, and for and to the advantage, general
welfare, and benefit of the City of Grapevine, Texas and of and for said property, that
same be now disannexed from the City of Grapevine, Texas; and
WHEREAS, after considering the disannexation of the above described property,
the City Council of said City of Grapevine, Texas has voted to disarnex said property
from the City of Grapevine.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
� Section 1 . That all matters stated in the preamble are found to be true and
correct and are incorporated herein as if copied into the body of this ordinance.

Section 2. That the City of Grapevine, pursuant to the above, does hereby
"� disannex the following described property:
� All of those tracts, parcels of land described in Exhibit "A"
which is attached hereto and incorporated herein and any
and all property and territory located in Dallas County or
Denton County.
Section 3. That the City of Grapevine retains and does not waive any and all
extraterritorial jurisdiction it may have in said Subject Property.
Section 4. The fact that the present ordinances of the City of Grapevine are
inadequate tc protect the interests ofi its citizens creates an emergency for the
immediate preservation of the puk�li� busiress, property, health, safety and general
welfare of the public which requires that this ordinance shali becom� effiective from
and after the date of its passage as provided by the Charter of the City of Grapevine,
and it is accordingly so ordained.
Section 5. That if any clause, phrase, sentence, paragraph or section of this
ordinance shall be held void or unconstitutional for any reason, same shall not affect
the other parts of this ordinance.

� BEGINNING at the intersection of the northwest right-of-way line of State Highway 121, as it
stood on November 1, 1975, with the Dallas County/Tarrant County line;
TI-�NCE: North, along said county line to the northwest corner of Dallas County, said point
also being in the Dallas County/Denton County line;
T�NCE: East, departing said Dallas/Tarrant County line, and along said Dallas
County/Denton County line to the intersection of said county line with the west line of the H.
Turner Survey, Abstract No. 1248, said point being in the east line of the J. Moffitt Survey,
Abstract No. 866;
THENCE: South, departing said Dallas/Denton County line, and along said west line of said
Turner Survey, to a point for corner as described in the City of Grapevine Ordinance No. 90-02,
said point also being the southwest corner of said H. Turner Survey;
TI�NCE: 'East, along the South line of said H. Turner Survey, a distance of 625 feet, more
