A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE
2014 CITY OFFICER ELECTION; CALLING A RUN -OFF
ELECTION AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, there came to be considered the returns of an election held on the 10th
day of May, 2014 for the purpose of electing the hereinafter named officials, and it
appearing from said returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast at said election
2,524 valid and legal votes; and
WHEREAS, each of the candidates in said election received the following votes:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was
given in accordance with law; and that said election was held in accordance with law; and
that the following named person was duly elected to the office indicated:
Council Place 5 ......................Chris Coy
Section 3. That the said above person is hereby declared duly elected to said
respective office, subject to the taking of the oath and filing bond as provided by the laws of
this State and the ordinances of this City.
Section 4. That in Council Place 6 race no candidate received a majority of the
total votes cast; therefore, a run -off election between the two candidates (Duff O'Dell and
LuAnn Chapman Gatts) who received the most votes shall be held on June 21, 2014 at the
Grapevine Convention Center, 1209 South Main Street, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and
7:00 p.m. on election day.
Section 5. That this resolution shall become effective from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 20th day of May, 2014.
