The City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Special Session on
this the 15th day of October, 1985 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Qzambers, 413

Main Street, with the following mesnbers present to-wit:

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Powers.
CNIC CIIVTER/AUDITORIUM FACILITY, CONSULTANT'S REPORT
The purpose of the special meeting was for the City Council to consider the
consultant's report and the recommendation of the Municipal Facilities
Conmittee relative to the proposed civic center/auditoriiun facility and take
any necessary action.
Mr. David Oberlander and Mr. David Blender were present to represent the �
1 City's consultant, Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. of Dallas. Mr. Oberlander f
reviewed an extensive report and noted that a public hearing had been held and
citizens interviews conducted to receive input for the study. The needs found
for building a civic center/auditoritun facility were addressed, and he
; reviewed civic/convention facilities in other cities. The building concept
reccxmtended for Grapevine by Peat, Maxwick, Mitchell & Co. was then discussed.

Council Member Ron Dyer, Chairman of the Municipal Facilities Co�unittee,
advised that the Conm.ittee endorsed the consultant's report. He solicited $;
response fran the Council concerning whether or not to go forward with the
building project and whether they wished to retain Hatfield/HalccHnb as the
architectural firm.
Council discussion followed. Although no formal action was taken, the general �
concensus was to proceed with the project and with Hatfield/Halccxnb �
' architects.

There being no further business for discussion at this t�, a motion to
adjourn the meeting was offered by Council Member Dyer and seconded by Council
Member Wilbanks. The m�tion prevailed by the ensuing vote:
