The following was approved on this Certificate of Appropriateness.- 1 . Remove the existing metal garage door and widen the door opening to 16' wide; install a new cedar wood faced door, 16' wide in the widened opening; door to be painted almond color to match the existing paint scheme of the house; 2. Install a pair of decorative wall sconce lights, one on each side of the garage door; 3. Widen the existing concrete driveway by adding decorative stamped concrete extension to each side of the driveway and create a new driveway turn -a -round on the west side of the driveway; as per the attached photos, site plan and specification sheets with the condition a permit is obtained from the Building Department. An approved Certificate of Appropriateness is not an approved building permit; a building permit 'isi/ is not required. HPO Klempin looked at the two -bay detached garage, Mrs. Spain was questioning widening the entrance by opening/removing two feet on each side. She discussed either two doors or one 16-foot wide door, the HPO stated either was appropriate but must be a wood or wood veneer door(s) with a Certificate of Appropriateness (#CA) completed with an attached manufacturer's specification sheet and a photograph of the door. Mrs. Spain discussed replacing the single exterior carriage style electric light fixture with a pair, one on each side of the garage door(s) to be added to the #CA. Mrs. Spain had discussed a circle drive learning it was not appropriate for the Township; but a turn -around slab could be installed. It was discussed to widen the concrete on each side of the drive and pour the turn -around slab using concrete stained and stamped to appear as a brick border to the existing driveway. An open rafter pergola was also discussed, the HPO said this was appropriate and could be done. They discussed attaching it off of the west side of the detached garage to fall in line with the planned turn -around slab. The meeting concluded with Mrs. Spain to complete the #CA application with drawings/specification sheet(s) attached, for Historic Preservation Commission staff approval as required to obtain a permit from the Building Department. 0: Historic Preservation Commission/ 405 Smith 2020/Site Meeting 052920
