ITEM 2- Summary of Golf Course Operations 3rd Otr. and discussion(Russell Pulley)
Russell explained the COV1D 19 Safety measures that have been put in place for the safety of all
patrons and staff. Russell explained that the golf course closed on March 13, 2020 and reopened
on April 28, 2020 for a total of 46 days. Being closed for 46 days obviously had an impact on
rounds and revenue. April alone is typically a $340K month and a 6500 + round month. Some of
the challenges have been: The water shed from the Flower Mound project by #4 Bluebonnet,
golfers not wanting to double up on golf carts but rather still riding a single riders for
convenience and not COVIDI9.
ITEM 3 — Clubhouse Project u date Russell Pulle
Russell reported that dirt work for the slab was complete and the installation of plumbing and
electrical had begun. This would continue through the end of July. Renderings of the new
clubhouse both front and rear views would be coming soon and would be displayed in the current
clubhouse foyer for all to see. The middle to the end of March 2021 is still a good timeline for
completion.
ITEM 4 —Open Hole #7 Bluebonnet to carts Robert Blalock
Robert Blalock brought up the question of allowing carts onto the fairway of hole #7 Bluebonnet.
Robert said he was aware of the steep slope but that allowing carts would help speed up play.
Robert brought up that there were slopes on holes 5 & 6 also. Russell and Merlin explained that
because the slope on that hole was more severe, safety was the primary concern. Also because of
the narrowness of the fairway, carts would be more concentrated causing more compaction and
ITEM 5 — Benches obert Blalock
Russell explained that the master plan was to match the benches that are located with the City
parks. Because of budgetary costs ($1000 + ea.) a temporary solution of temporary benches
would be considered until the funds were available.
ITEM 6- Address Low water areas on holes 334,5 Bluebonnet and drains ze Russell Pulle Russell reported that the Engineers for both the City and the Town of Flower Mound and the
developer have been working on a solution to the problem. One plan that involved dredging from
the Golf Course side of the bridge by#4 tee Bluebonnet through the trees to #5 tee Bluebonnet as
a solution was denied by the COE.
ITEM 7- Phone Eti n Ate staff(Robert Blalock
Robert reported that some of his experiences calling in to the Golf shop, the staff has been short
and not very helpful. Robert said that he has heard this from others as well. Bob was very
complimentary on what a good job the staff has done in changing the environment of the golf
staff and just does not want to see it regress. Russell explained that even though everyone should
be aware of their tone and attitude when dealing with customers, it c
straining at times dealing with some of the questions that get asked multiple times in many an get very stressful and
occasions. Russell thanked Bob for bringing this to his attention so that it might be addressed.
ITEM $- Markin of Rand entrin arkinlot-lane se aration (Gary Davis
Gary Davis suggested that marking the road leading into the course for lane separation and
signage for speed control might be a good idea due to all the extra cart traffic in the parking lot
Russell said that he would contact the street department and see what might be done.
ITEM 9- Instructional Program Update Jr. Aeadem PGA Jr. League. Get Golf Read
yl
(Robert Singletary) Robert reported that due to COVID 19, Junior league has been suspended.
It is possible it could start up again in the fall. The JR academy and the Get Golf Ready
Programs, as well as individual instruction, have continued to trend to more normal numbers
since the COVID 19 shutdown.
ITEM 10- Golf Course Maintenance Re ort Merlin Tielkemeier
Merlin reported that while we were closed, areification that would normally be done in August
was done in March. Doing it in March did pose the issue of cooler temperatures, which caused
the greens to take a little longer to heal. Merlin reported that the greens currently in great shape.
The irrigation upgrade has helped with irrigation control and the course has been getting many
compliments.
