HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 10 - Server Storage ExpansionMEMOTO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER MEETING DATE: JULY 21, 2020 SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF VIRTUAL DESKTOP INFRASTRUCTURE (VDI) SERVER STORAGE EXPANSION. RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider the approval for the purchase of additional virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) server storage from Unique Digital for the IT Department. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund, IT budget for an amount not to exceed $59,258. BACKGROUND: This purchase is for additional storage for the server environment to reallocate space for the creation of the upgraded Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment. This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal agreement with The Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271 and Texas Government Code, Chapter 791. Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to Unique Digital. The IT Department and Purchasing staff reviewed the contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and determined that the contract would provide the best product and pricing for meeting the needs of the City.
