RESOLUTION NO. 99-34
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
`�'� GRAPEVINE, TEXAS ENDORSING THE STATE HIGHWAY
114/121 MAJOR INVESTMENT STUDY (MIS) PREFERRED
ALTERNATIVE AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, mobility of people and goods is a crucial element to the quality of life
in Grapevine; and
WHEREAS, the existing transportation infrastructure in Northeast Tarrant County
will not meet the mobility needs of the twenty first century; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation developed a
comprehensive transportation solution that identifies improvements in the existing
freeway corridors of State Highway 114 and State Highway 121 consisting of traditional
freeway components and an innovative managed express facility, and identifies
improvements to the local infrastructure comprising a congestion mitigation plan; and
WHEREAS, this transportation solution is known as the Preferred Alternative;
and
WHEREAS, the transportation planning process was a cooperative effort with;
� -� the cities of Colleyville, Grapevine, Euless, Keller, Flower Mound, Coppell, Southlake,
Lewisville, Irving; the counties of Denton, Tarrant and Dallas; the agencies of the Dallas
Area Rapid Transit, Fort Worth Transit Authority, DFW International Airport and North
Central Texas Council of Governments and the North Texas Turnpike Authority.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the preamble of this resolution are true
and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Grapevine endorses the Preferred
Alternative and recommends that the Regional Transportation Council include the
Preferred Alternative in the current metropolitan transportation plan.
Section 3. That this resolution shall become effective from and after the date
of its passage.

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 20th day of July, 1999.
