Home My WebLink AboutRES 1998-004 � RESOLUTION NO. 98-04 ,�,,,, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING STAFF TO PROCEED WITH THE EXECUTION OF A TELECOMMUNICAITONS INFRASTRUCTURE FUND GRANT FOR CONNECTIVITY TO THE INTERNET AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE TO ACT AS THE CITY'S CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE CONNECTIVITY GRANT FOR PUBLIC LIBRARIES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City has identified needs related to connecting to the internet; and WHEREAS, the Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund grant will assist in providing a T-1 line and equipment necessary to connect to the internet; and �� WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the best public interest, health and welfare that „�,,, the City apply for funding under the Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund, entitled Connectivity Grants for Public Libraries. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the preamble of this resolution are true and correct and are hereby incorporated into the body of this resolution as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That the City endorse a proposal approved for funding under the Telecommunications Infrastructure fund. Section 3. That the City Council supports the activities as set forth in said proposal. Section 4. That the City Council directs and designates the City manager or his designated representative as the City's Chief Executive Officer and Authorized Representative to act in all matters in connection with this grant and the City's participation in the Connectivity Grants for Public Libraries. Section 5. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its ""'"' passage. NO. 98-04 2 *t�� ExH�air.,�.... ro - `� '—°� Telecommunications .��__�X� , Infrastructure Fund r:�� p�� . �� Grantee Acceptance Notice AGREEMENT: Whereas Grapevine Public Library, hereinafter referred to as Grantee, has therefore submitted a grant application to the Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund Board (TIFB), entitled Connectivity Grants for Public Libraries, and further identified by grant number QE-1997-LCB-466; and Whereas, the TIFB has approved the grant application as evidenced by the Statement of Grant Award from the Director of Programs dated January 23, 1998 ; and Whereas, the Grantee. desires to accept the grant award, the state of Texas Uniform Grant Management Standards, the Grantee's Application (#) as amended by TIFB, the RFP Application Packet instructions, TIFB program regulations, handbooks, guidelines, manuals and special requirements, if any, as evidenced in the Statement of Grant Award; � Now, therefore, the Grantee accepts the aforementioned Statement of Grant Award, the state of Texas Uniform Grant Management Standards, the RFP Application Packet instructions, TIFB program regulations, handbooks, guidelines, manuals, other conditions that may be promulgated by the TIFB, and any special requirements as evidenced by the agreement, executed by the project director, the financial officer, and the official authorized to sign the original grant application, or the official's successor, as presiding officer of and on behalf of the governing body of the Grantee; and NON-LOBBYING CERTIFICATIOM: We, the undersigned, certify that none of the grant funds, regardless of their source or character, including local eash assumption of cost funds, shall be used in any manner to influence the outcome of any election or the passage or :fefeat of any legislative measure. � . A flnding that the grantee has violated this certification shall result in the immediate termination of funding of the project and the grantee shall not be eligible for future funding from the TIFB.
