A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
�`� GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
STAFF TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE
STATE HIGHWAY 26 PEDESTRIAN TRAIL AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNATED
REPRESENTATIVE TO ACT IN ALL MATTERS IN
CONNECTION WITH THE TRANSPORTATION
ENHANCEMENT PROJECT; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine has adopted a Parks,
Recreation and Open Space Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan identified a
connecting trail system along State Highway 26; and
WHEREAS, the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act(ISTEA) allows

for competitive funding of acceptable trail projects; and
WHEREAS, Title 23 U.S.C. Section 104 established a program for
�� Transportation Enhancement Activities; and
WHEREAS, Title 23 U.S.C. Section 134 establishes that Metropolitan Planning
Organizations (MPOs) and State Transportation Agencies develop transportation plans
and programs for urbanized areas of the State; and
WHEREAS, the State and the City desire to develop the State Highway 26
Pedestrian Trail; and
WHEREAS, Title 23 U.S.C. Section 120 establishes that the Federal share of
funding will not exceed eighty percent (80%) of the cost of the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . That all matters stated in the preamble and true and correct and are
,,,�, incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City of Grapevine endorses the project described as the
;,.,,,,� State Highway 26 Pedestrian Trail.
Section 3. That the City of Grapevine agrees to abide by the stipulations set
�'� forth by the Transportation Enhancement program.

Section 4. That the City Council directs and designates the City Manager or
his designated representative as the City's Chief Executive Officer and Authorized
Representative to act in all matters in connection with Transportation Enhancement
Project CSJ: 0902-48-215 - State Highway Pedestrian Trail.
Section 5. That this resolution shall become effective from and after the date
of its passage.

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 7th day of January , 1997.
