A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE,TEXAS CALLING PUBLIC HEARINGS FOR THE
PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING THE INSTITUTION OF
ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN
PROPERTY LOCATED IN DALLAS AND DENTON
COUNTIES; PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF ALL
CITY ORDINANCES INCLUDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE
WHILE THE PROCEEDINGS ARE PENDING; PROVIDING
FOR PUBLICATION OF NOTICES AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1 . Pursuant to and in accordance with Chapter 43, Texas Local
Government Code, the Municipal Annexation Act, public hearings are hereby called
for the dates, times and locations described below for the purposes of considering the
""`" institution of annexation proceedings to annex certain property ("Subject Property")
located in Dallas and Denton Counties, said property being more fully described in
�._�� Exhibit "A", which is attached hereto and incorporated herein.

Section 2. All interested persons shall be given the opportunity to be heard at
said public hearings, which shall be conducted and held not more than forty (40) days
nor less than twenty (20) days prior to the institution of the annexation proceedings.
Section 3. Notice of public hearings.

A. Notice of these public hearings shall be published in a newspaper having
general circulation in the City and in the territory proposed to be
� annexed. Said notices shall be accomplished by publication of this

n resolution in its entirety, including Exhibit "A", at least once in said
newspaper not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days
prior to each public hearing.

B. Additional notice by certified mail shall be given to railroad companies
serving the City and on the City's tax roll where the right-of-way is
located within the territory to be annexed.
Section 4. The City Staff is instructed to enforce all of the City ordinances,
including the zoning and platting ordinances during the time the proceedings are
pending and property owners within the area are so notified.
Section 5. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.

Being all that land entirely in Dallas County and being described as follows:

BEGINNING at the intersection of the northwest right-of-way line of State Highway 121, as it stood
on November 1, 1975, with the Dallas County/Tarrant County line;

THENCE: North, along said county line to the northwest corner of Dallas County, said point also
being in the Dallas County/Denton County line;
THENCE: East, departing said Dallas/Tarrant County line, and along said Dallas County/Denton
County line to the intersection of said county line with the west line of the H.Turner Survey, Abstract
No. 1248, said point being in the east line of the J. Moffitt Survey, Abstract No. 866;
THENCE: South, departing said Dallas/Denton County line, and along said west line of said Turner
Survey, to a point for corner as described in the City of Grapevine Ordinance No. 90-02, said point also
being the southwest corner of said H. Turner Survey;
THENCE: 'East along the South line of said H. Turner Survey, a distance of 625 feet, more or less,
to the point of intersection with a line bearing N 14°25'30" E, as described in the City of Grapevine,
Texas Annexation Ordinance No. 86-32' as cited in said Ordinance 90-02;
'THENCE: Northerly, 'with and following the boundary line described in said City of Grapevine
Ordinance No. 86-32 to a point for corner, the said point being at the intersection of said boundary line
,�...,with the north line of Dallas County' as cited in said Ordinance 90-02;
' ,;�THENCE: Easterly, along said county line to the point of intersection with said annexed tract as
described in Ordinance 86-32 'to a point which is the easternmost point of the call 'S 59°32'09" E, a
distance of 88.16 feet to a point for corner', as described in Ordinance 86-32 and cited in Ordinance
90-02;
THENCE: 'Southerly or Easterly (shortest distance in a straight line) to a point of intersection with
the centerline of Denton Creek' as cited in Ordinance 90-02;
THENCE: Easterly, 'with meanders of Denton Creek to the west right-of-way line of State Highway
121', as cited in Ordinance 90-02, as the right-of-way stood November 1, 1975;
'I�iENCE: Southwesterly, along said right-of-way to a point of intersection with the Dallas
County/Tarrant County line to the PLACE OF BEGII�TNING, and containing 481 acres, more or less,
provided however, all of that land included within the above legal description that has been adjudicated
to be exclusively within the City of Coppell and not within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City
of Grapevine in a Final 7udgment entered on February 16, 1994 in the case styled City of Coppell,
Texas v. City of Grapevine, Texas; Cause No. 88-7621-D in the 95th Judicial District Court, Dallas
County, Texas is hereby expressly and specifically excluded from the above described with the said
Final Judgment being incorporated herein by reference.

BEGINNING at the westernmost intersection of the Dallas County/Denton County line with the line of
�the annexed tract as defined in the City of Grapevine, Texas Annexation Ordinance No. 86-32;
THENCE: Northerly, Easterly, and Southerly, with and following the annexed tract as described in
said Ordinance, to a point for corner; said point being the easternmost intersection of said ordinance
with the said county line;
THENCE: Westerly, along said County line to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, and containing 39 acres,
more or less, provided however, all of that land included within the above legal description that has
been adjudicated to be exclusively within the City of Coppell and not within the extraterritorial
jurisdiction of the City of Grapevine in a Final Judgment entered on February 16, 1994 in the case
styled City of Coppell, Texas v. City of Grapevine, Texas; Cause No. 88-7621-D in the 95th Judicial
District Court, Dallas County, Texas is hereby expressly and specifically excluded from the above
