This letter confirms on July 16, 2014, the Historic Preservation Commission approved with
conditions #CA14-43 for the property addressed 618 West Wall Street, legally described as
Block 101 Lot 5, College Heights Addition, Grapevine, Texas. The following was approved on
this Certificate of Appropriateness:
The redesign of the previously approved plans to construct a new addition to
the Craighill Cottage following the City of Grapevine's Design Guidelines for
Historic Residential Structures established for the property; addition includes a
new carport on the east end of the house, a new 1 -car garage at the rear of the
property and a new two-story addition containing bedrooms and bath
as per the attached plans' with the condition all exterior finishes to include roofing,
siding and trim, doors, windows, light fixtures and hardware be approved by staff and
a building permit is obtained from the Building Department.

Certificate of Appropriateness #CA14-43 for the property located at 618 East Wall Street,
legally described as Block 101 , Lot 5 of Grapevine, to the Grapevine Historic Preservation
Ordinance 91-73 (Appendix G — Grapevine Code of Ordinances), as amended for the
following items:
1. Construct new addition to the Craighill Cottage following City of Grapevine's Desig
Guidelines for Historic Residential Structures established for the property, additio
includes a new carport on the east end of the house, a new 1- car garage at th
rear of the property and a new two-story addition containing bedrooms and bath I

under a separate Certificate of Appropriateness and that a building permit Is
obtained from the building department.
Certificate of Appropriateness application #CA14-43 was submitted on July 9, 2014 by the
owner Lauren Jaquess Jackson and Chris Jackson for a revised design to replace the
previously approved plans for a new addition to the Craighill Cottage. At the May 28, 2014
meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission the new addition, was approved following
City of Grapevine Design Guidelines for Historic Residential Structures. The addition had
been designed to adhere to the additional provisions of the Grapevine Historic
Preservation ordinance adopted in June 2013 including the side yard setback plane. Due
to cost issues, the previous design has been revised.
Staff recommends approval of Certificate of Appropriateness #CA14-43 with conditions for
revised design of the new addition developed following the Design Guidelines, established
for the property with the condition that all exterior materials including, roofing, siding, trim,
doors, windows and light fixtures be staff approved under a separate Certificate of
Appropriateness and that a building permit is obtained from the Building Department.
