RESOLUTION NO. 92-35
' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
�+' OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AMENDING RESOLUTION
NO. 90-17 ADOPTED ON JUNE 5, 1990, RELATING TO
THE GRAPEVINE HERITAGE FOUNDATION ADVISORY
BOARD; EXPANDING THE MEMBERSHIP OF SAID BOARD
BY AMENDING SECTION 4; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, it is the considered belief and opinion of the
Grapevine City Council that certain aspects of city government
function in a manner that best serves the needs of the community
when interested citizens participate and assist in the formulation
of policies; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine established the Grapevine
Heritage Foundation Advisory Board on June 5, 1990 by the adoption
of Resolution No. 90-17; and
WHEREAS, the responsibilities, activities and commitments of
the Grapevine Heritage Foundation have grown and expanded as
festivals, cultural events and historic preservation activities
� have expanded.
�+r+ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the above and foregoing preamble is true and
correct and is incorporated into this resolution as if copied
herein in its entirety.
Section 2 . That Section 4.A of Resolution No. 90-17 be
amended to read as follows;
"4.A. The Advisory Board shall consist of eleven (11)
members who have a demonstrated interest in the
preservation and restoration of Grapevine's heritage and
historic structures and sites and/or in the promotion of
Grapevine's heritage and historic structures and sites
through festivals and cultural events. "
Section 3 . That Section 4.B of Resolution No. 90-17 be
amended by the addition of a new subsection 4.B(i) to read as
follows:
� "4.B. (1) Upon passage and approval of this Resolution,
four (4) new members shall be appointed by the City
� Council on November 17, for two (2) year terms which
shall be staggered. One (1) of the appointments shall be
„�, for an initial eight (8) month period to expire in June
1993, and thereafter, appointment to said position shall
be for terms of two (2) years. Three (3) of the
appointments shall be for an initial one (1) year and
"`� eight (8) month period to expire in June 1994, and
thereafter, appointment to said positions shall be for
terms of two (2) years. ��
Section 4. That Section 4 .F of Resolution No. 90-17 be
amended to read as follows:
"4.F. Six (6) members of the Advisory Board shall
constitute a quorum. The Board shall act on a majority
vote of those members present. ”
Section 5. That this resolution shall be effective from and
after the date of its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 20th day of October , 1992 .
