This letter confirms on August 28, 2020 the Historic Preservation Staff approved with
conditions #CA20-74 for the property addressed 527 South Dooley Street, legally described
as Block 117, Lot 5R per plat D214121796, City of, Grapevine, Texas. The following was
approved on this Certificate of Appropriateness:
1. Construct a new screened -in porch addition to the existing dining room, in the rear
yard of the house with the following features:
a. All screening to be black vinyl material mounted in wood frames, painted to
match existing house trim colors; with three sliding screen doors to provide
access to the patio;
b. A stone faced fireplace with metal chimney cap to be located on the south wall of
the screened porch;
c. Screened porch to have a roof deck above, incorporating materials to match
those of the existing dining room roof deck;
2. Construct a new stone and stainless steel faced outdoor kitchen with built-in grill and
refrigerator, along the south side of the existing patio,
as per the attached plans, specifications and photos with the condition a permit is obtained
from the Building Department.
An approved Certificate of Appropriateness is not an approved Building Permit and a
permit is / is not required. Contact the City of Grapevine's Building Department at
817-410-3165 for fees and information regarding permits.
