PURPOSE
5.1 The purpose of a Special Event Permit policy is to insure the safety of all participants
and to allow the City department's adequate information to prepare.
POLICY
5.2 Anyone considering holding a race, rally, parade or other event on public owned or
leased property must submit an application and fee to the Parks and Recreation
Department, no less than 30 days prior to the event. The application (See
Attachment E 5.0 — Special Event Permit) contains information on the location,
number of attendees expected, traffic plan, etc. The application must be notarized.
5.3 The Parks and Recreation Department forwards the application to all appropriate City
departments. Each Department signs the application and notes any concerns they
have or any conditions that should be met prior to approval. An application is
approved, approved with conditions, or denied within 30 business days of the permits
submittal.
