PURPOSE
The purpose of the Warehouse policy is to establish control for access to warehouse inventory
and prevent unauthorized access.
POLICY
I. The Internal Services (Purchasing) Superintendent authorizes appropriate members of his
staff to have access to the City warehouse. Only authorized staff is permitted in controlled
warehouse areas.
II. City departments submit requisitions (see Attachment C 8.0 —City of Grapevine Warehouse
Requisition form) to the Senior Warehouse Worker or designee. The Senior Warehouse
Worker or designee verifies stock and obtains necessary items from inventory.
III. The Senior Warehouse Worker or designee records the transaction including the quantity
and description of materials, City department and requestor information.
IV. Monthly, Internal Services submits a Warehouse Usage Report to each City department.
V. City departments are requested to submit requisitions 24 hours in advance, when possible.
VI. City departments are required to obtain sufficient inventory for weekend and after hours
use. Weekend and after hour access will be limited to authorized personnel only on an
emergency call-out basis.
VII. If emergency access is necessary; the City department must contact Police Dispatch at
817-442-5908 to request call-out of authorized warehouse personnel.
