'The City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in Special Session on
this the 8th day of February, 1983 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 413
Main Street, with the follawing persons present to�vit:

constituting a quorum with Council Nlember Ron Dyer absent, with the following
mP.mbers of the City Staff:
Bill Eisen Assistant City Manager
John F. Boyle, Jr. City Attorney
Shirley Armstrong City Secretary
with City Manager Jim Hancock absent.

Mayor Tate called the meeting to order.
INVOCATION
The Invocation was delivered by Mayor Pro Tem Ware.

E�CPI'IVE SESSION, LITIGATION
Mayor Tate advised those in attendance that the Council would recess to the
;,,�,� Conference Rocgn to discuss pending litigation. pursuant to Article 6252-17,
V.A.T.C.S. , Subsection (e) .
Follawing the �ecutive Session, the Council reconvened in the Council
Chambers for the purpose of considering any necessary action relating to
litigation.
Assistant City Manager Bill Eisen reported that a final judgement had been
received in the Spalding vs. City of Grapevine lawsuit. He advised that it
was the recom�ndation of the City Staff that the Council authorize payment to
David L, and Barbara Spalding in the amount of $50,000 in full settlement of
the suit.
Council Nlember Dunn then made a motion to authorize the City Staff to issue a
check to David L, and Barbara Spalding in the amr�unt of $50,000 in full
settlement of the suit. The motion was seconded by Council M�mber Brekken and
prevailed by the follawing vote:
Ayes . Tate, Ware, Oliver, Dunn, Shafer, & Brekken
Nays . None
Absent: Dyer

There being no further business to come before the Council, Council Nlember
Oliver made a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Council Member
Shafer and prevailed by the follawing vote:
Ayes . Tate, Ware, Oliver, Dunn, Shafer, & Brekken
Nays . None
Absent: Dyer
