Home My WebLink AboutORD 1989-040 ORDINANCE NO. 89-40 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, NAMING A CERTAIN CITY STREET "SILVERCREST LANE" ; AUTHORIZING THE ERECTION OF STREET NAME SIGNS; REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, there has heretofore been dedicated to the City of �,..� Grapevine, Texas, (the "City") by easement certain land for , street right-of-way purposes located generally from its intersection with Kimball Road, said intersection being approximately 420 feet west of the intersection of Kimball Road and Lakeview Drive, south to property owned by the United States Army Corps of Engineers; and WHEREAS, there currently exists a four-lane divided roadway on and across the said land, which roadway has never been named but which has been commonly known as Silvercrest Lane; and WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to formally establish the name of the roadway as Silvercrest Lane. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1 . That a certain public street right-of-way, currently unnamed but commonly known as Silvercrest Lane and generally located from its intersection with Kimball Road, said intersection being approximately 420 west of the intersection of Kimball Road and Lakeview Drive, south to property owned by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, and as more particularly described in easements dedicating the said street right-of-way attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof by this reference, shall be and is hereby named "SILVERCREST LANE" . Section 2 . That the City Manager, or his agent, is hereby authorized to have the proper street name signs identifying the street as "SILVERCREST LANE" erected, constructed, and placed at such points along said street or portions thereof, so that travelers will be reasonably notified of said street name. Section 3 . That all ordinances or any parts thereof in conflict with the terms of this ordinance shall be and hereby are deemed repealed to the extent of the conflict. Section 4 . If any section, article, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereto any person or circumstance is held invalid or unconstitutional by a Court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance; and the City Council hereby declares it would have passed such remaining portions of this ordinance despite such invalidity, which remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect. Section 5 . The fact that the present ordinances and �4�" regulations of the City of Grapevine, Texas, do not adequately regulate the traffic within the City creates an emergency and the preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare requires that this ordinance take effective immediately from and after the date of its passage.
